Wee Jock vs the Italians

It's the retreat from Tug Argan, and the Black Watch are pulling back.  A single platoon acts as rearguard.  What could go wrong?

The patrol phase ends pretty evenly, but random terrain allocation leaves the game without much cover.

The Italians get a Breda team on overwatch down first.

And the
Sergente, let's call him Giuseppe, puts an assault party together.  Assault?  This lot?
The British armour, style over substance I fear.

And the Italians brew two of those carriers using an A/T rifle team.

Wee Jock and his strangled cat pipes give heart to the Black Watch.

But a perfect Catchroll comes out, much spoken of but seldom seen, a 1 to 5, Italian armour comes on with the Tenente, lets call him Guiseppe too.

Wee Jock McGurk, platoon Sergeant takes the second jump off point among the rocks.  All of my Black Watch have the surname McGurk.

And Wee Jock the anti tank Gunner puts a boyes round into the Italian Tenentes tank.  Italian morale fails and the Black Watch win.

Wee Jock where's yer troosers?

10mm buildings project

For my 1940 10mm game I needed a dozen or so new buildings to match the map I've had printed.  These small farms and town templates need to look the part so ots scratch building time.

The starting point was Artists mounting board, which is my go to heavy duty card for this sort of thing. The buildings and garden walls were easy enough to form, and my glue of choice is Uhu.  The garden areas get a little extra texturing.
The local model shop had an embossed card simulating tiled roofing and these were cut to shape, glued on after rhe walls had a dark grey colour.  I didn't have time to add thinner card as window shutters and doors, but thats one for the future.

Some lighter browns as paths and darker with sand added in for the gardens came next, with clump foliage dabbed here and there and glued down with pva.

Still need finishing off but I made something like six templates and a similar number of individual buildings with the game giving me time pressure.  Pleased so far.

Imperial Entanglements

The crew of the former assault shuttle Warlock are on a new randomly generated mission to sabotage an Imperial data transfer satellite, located far out in the Vega III System.  The patron is a mercenary group, and the pay is rated excellent.

As Warlock Docks with the satellite an Imperial Corvette appears.  Is this a trap?  Have the mercenaries sold them out?  Are they mercenaries or just pirates?

Deployment.  The data satellite is central.

Warlock refuses the hail.  I keep the satellite between us.  That Corvette is faster and more heavily armed.

Warlock Docks, and the crew hide in the smuggler compartments and set the auto destruct routine to run a false countdown.

The Imperials move in to put a boarding party across, only to find an abandoned ship, apparently counting down an auto destruct.

Sensors tell my crew that the Imperials have most of ther crew aboard.  The Warlock crew break out of the crawl spaces and a gunfight breaks out.  Engineering is soon recaptured.

Combat under fivecore can be brutal.  The upper deck is swept, and the Imperial Captain trapped ou Warlock's bridge.

The Imperial Captain is killed, with all of the boarding party.  Warlocks crew got lucky.
The Mercenary group finally appear in a destroyer.  This is heavy opposition, and the Corvettes acting Captain turns to engage, giving Warlock the chance to run for it.

The game ends as Warlock escapes, leaving the Corvette and destroyer to fight.
