The Hostages

Araki Katsuo Police Sergeant Third Class from Seosu City's 5th Divison, is visiting the Ri District of Jingbai City invited by his estranged wife Shiba Ayumi (who has changed her name) a high powered business executive at the Harano Corporation.  Katsuo is left to cool his heels in a back room near a party for the movers and shakers.  The party is interrupted by Terrorists, who take over the building, intent on securing the Harano Corporate Vault and an artefact hidden inside.

Unknown to Katsuo:  D6:

1.  His wife is one of the terrorists and has invited him to Shanghai to get rid of him.

2.  The "Terrorists"  are actually agents of the secretive Hebi, a Governmental intelligence Agency.

3.  Local City Police Chief, Tanaka Hiroshi, is involved in the plot.

4.  One of the "Hostages" is a replicant.  One of the "terrorists" is an undercover cop.

5.  The terrorists really want access to the Data centre to plant a hacking program.

6.  The Okubo Crime family is aware of the robbery and sent a team of high level assassins to infiltrate the building and steal the artefact from the thieves once it is secured.

The Action follows Katsuo as he attempts to single handedly prevent the crime and protect the hostages.  He begins on Map 7 as a Harano family party is underway, about to be rudely interrupted by the "terrorists."  

Kimura Akino, gang boss, will follow a randomised robbery plan diced up as the game continues.  It will probably make as much sense as any movie plot. 

The Harano Corporation party.  The terrorists have herded the hostages against the bar.  Kimura Akino and his boys are told of the cop in the back room, and a group go after him.

Okubo Yoshiaki confronts the off duty cop.  Katsuo draws and they shoot it out.

Yoshiaki's boys close in, but with deadly accuracy Katsuo drops them.

More terrorists break into the party

Katsuo makes a break for it.  Mrs Araki seems to have joined the terrorists

The action moves upstairs into the Corporate Offices and Map 26.

Katsuo is trying to get to the elevators.  He is pursued by Miyazaki Ronjin and three of his Extras.

Katsuo takes up an ambush position.  Its going to get him a plus one but these guys have machine guns.

He hits the first guy around the corner, recoiling him.

Miyazaki uses his initiative to close in to point blank range.  Hes clearly an idiot.  Katsuo drops him knocking him unconscious.  Miyazaki will be back.

Two of the extras pursue Katsuo.  He kills one easily but the second is on him.

A proper Hollywood fight.  Both lose their guns and hand to hand it out.

A slugfest, they are matched it seems.

Katsuo is knocked back.  

But Katsuo is a street cop.  He draws a spare piece from a hidden holster and unsportingly shoots his opponent.  Shame!  

Sergeant, Third grade Katsuo has made it to the roof.  He runs out onto the Helipad, only to find yet more terrorists, and a hostage.  But it turns out his estranged wife is one of the criminal gang.  Not his day really.

It's a gunfight on the roof of the Sky Plaza.

Katsuo makes the roof.

And he discovers his wife planting explosives.  Turns out she's a terrorist and intended to kill him the whole time.  How disappointing!

Miyazaki and more of his men are closing in.  Katsuo jumps down from the helipad onto the roof below.

Lots of terrorists lots of guns.

Our heroic cop goes tactical and hides behind an aircon unit. At long range he guns down one of the bad guys. 

But Miyazaki and his boys cant seem to hit him.

Three fails.  Katsuo gets three reactions.  Action time

He drops another bad guy.

Miyazaki can only watch as Katsuo spends a chi point to jump down onto the floor below.   D6 is a five and he lands safely, sprinting away along the balcony.

With three good passes and three actions Katsuo runs around the edge of the building,  The terrorists cant target him!

Miyazaki finally gets an action but his dice give Katsuo two reactions first,

Miyazaki spends a chi point to motivate one of his men into action.

Katsuo spends a second chi point to jump/clamber back up onto the roof level.  He comes up with actions left and shooting.

He kills an extra but on his second shot it turns out his gun is empty, magazine swap.  Turn handover.

Miyazaki closes in for hand to hand.  He has a knife, but Katsuo gets that 6:1 result.  He throws Miyazaki off the roof,   

Down onto the next level.  I roll a d6 for the landing, and unfortunately for Miyazaki its a one.  he tumbles off the roof and falls from the top of the skyscraper.  Its the way he would have wanted to go.

Mrs Araki shows her colours and shoots at Katsuo, knocking him back.

But he wins three action points with his initiative roll and fires back three times.

Katsuo's Ex wife is knocked off the roof onto the floor below.  

In a scene cut from the movie Katsuo puts another bullet into his missus, and knocks her off the building..

Our Hero heads for the elevator, determined to get out and warn the authorities.  He intends to make it to the subway beneath the Plaza to escape.
