The plan for 2022
Divided into two between my gaming in Durham and Cyprus
Durham
The Byzantines vs Normans
Lion Rampant.
I've ordered the Crusader Miniatures Varangian Guard, a couple of sprues of Auxilia archers, and intend to pick up some Fireforge cavalry to add to my existing Byzantine army for some Viking in the sun games. I will try really hard not to leave it in Cyprus by mistake.
O Group
The retreat of the BEF
The retreat of the BEF
The 1940 Brits and Germans are packed to come back with me and will add to the figures I already have in Durham to give me 4 companies of British, 4 German, loads of support options and armour.
Farthingdale Pasha and the Egyptian Desert Column
and
Chinese Farthingdale and the Boxer shorts
using Men who would be Kings

Still waiting on that elusive Newline sale!
Austria vs Russia WW1 20mm
Squarebashing
Mud and Blood
Mud and Blood
I set a £20 limit on this, and already have a few boxes of HaT Austrian and Russian WW1.
Paphos
The Persians (Atlantic Miniatures) and the Phoenicians (Victrix Carthaginian Citizen Spearmen) are going to be added to my Men of Bronze setup. They will give a very different feel to Hoplite on Hoplite action.
Rebels and Patriots
20mm White vs Blue Seven Years War. I`m eventually intending to add a Red force to this and I keep looking at those Newline Jacobites but for next year its Austria vs Prussia and discovering the early career of the Baron Pumphosen, mainly involving a pub crawl across the Meckel map in search of Apricot pie.
The Desert War
O group. or IABSM in 10mm
COC in 20mm

COC in 20mm
My WW2 Western Desert setup has been refighting Operation Compass for the last few years. Probably time to finish it and move on to the Benghazi handicap.
I'm foreseeing a series of O Group games based on following the 2nd battalion North Durhams, but probably with a focus on multi arm "Jock Columns." Young Bumfluff Farthingdale and his tank will feature heavily. This lot are painted up and ready to go but I`ll probably find some way to have to add to them.
Dubious Figulous Carries on Invading Britannia
Infamy
The Early Imperial 20mm setup is actually done, but could still do with a few more Italeri Gauls and maybe an additional chariot and archers. Double basing the figures has given them a new lease of life and I`m really impressed with the way they look.

I must also source a Barbara Windsor-esque Heroic Queen Boudicca figure.
The "maybe later in the year ideas"
28mm Macedonians
I have a box of 40 Pike and a pack of 12 Victrix Heavy Cavalry
Just need to get them painted up. These could face my Hoplites in Men of Bronze or be ready for Infamy 2.
SYW Dragoons and SYW Redcoats are planned but those Newline Jacobites would be "well tasty."
Eureka 40mm and completing the Three Musketeers collection, probably by adding some Irregular miniatures to them as well as the battle mat base for instant terrain.
Ambitious. Don't forget the 'March of the Sea People' and the Infamy 2020 campaign!
ReplyDeleteI too am hoping for a Newline sale.
