The Flashing Blade's Return

Evicted from the Queens Head Inn the Flashing Bladé escaped with the Countess, leaving the Spanish to plot with the Papal Noncio.  Having thoroughly "interviewed " the grateful Countess, our hero has returned to the Inn with five musketeers, lead by the formidable aroma of Lieutenant Ettienne du Pongé.

Within the common room the Spanish are reinforced by Papal Guard swordsmen, and the Noncio probably has an incriminating letter or two on his sacred person.

En Gardé!

The Spanish Ambassador, the Papal Noncio and Milady de Wiener (the Cardinal's agent) share a table.  Six Papal Guards stand watch.

The Bladé leads the King's Musketeers into the Inn.

En Gardé!  The melee seems destined to become scrappy. Ettienne is driven back.

And another of those Spanish Assassins adds to the Musketeers woes.

But the Bladé is at least on form, running a Guardsman through.

And then he gets another.

Honours are about even so far as it's Guards vs Musketeers.

A Musketeer brings down the assassin.

And caught on camera, a dishonourable move as the Bladé dispatches a Guard with a thrust to the rear.

But the top table have fled, and Lady de Wiener escapes, unnoticed, posing as a barmaid.  The Papal Guard break, with three men down.  I roll for a plot point and an incriminating letter is found at the plotters table.

The pursuit will continue, and with the evidence in hand the Bladé will now look forward to his reward from Good King Louis.
