The Albufeira Regt

PORTUGUESE 1808 ONWARDS
Core Force:(3)  Leader, Status I  Tenente The Count of Panalones
(6)  Leader, Status II Sergente Luis Figo                      (6)  Two Groups of 10 Fuzileiro,  Muskets
(3)  Leader Status I  Grenadiero Tenente Mourinho, "The Special One"   (6)  One Group of 10 Grenadieros, Muskets
(9)  One Group Cacadores Atiradores, Skirmishers,   Rifles

Point Value:    35

The Portuguese are an Allied force in my campaign and are roughly at half the strength of the normal 60 points core forces.
His Excellency, Tenente, the Count of Pantalones will be nominally in command of this rabble.  In the Vimeiro Campaign he proved worse than useless, so he can only improve.
Of course my plan is that a certain Rifles Captain be sent back to Portugal with Sir John Moore's paychest, and end up attached and commanding this lot.   The Portuguese will then have an influx of German Riflemen in time for Wellesley to take command in Portugal.

Who knows this lot  may eventually become efficient "Fighting Cocks."

The basis of this Company was a box of Warlord Portuguese I bought this with their £10 off voucher!  Added to this was a sprue of Perry British, and two sprues of Warlord French fusiliers with belgic shako swaps.  These form the Cacadores.

The real problem will be Tenente Jose Mourino, (who calls himself "the Special One" and believes he is impervious to musket balls). The Sergente will be the solid and dependable midfield play of Luis Figo.
Any resemblence to Portuguese footballer`s names is purely unintentional...
The Portuguese will also form up as passable Americans for 1812 (passable for me anyway) or an "Irish Regiment" serving Spain.
