COC Bulge Ladder Campaign, The Obenschield Ridge

These solo games follow a single platoon of "I" Company 28th Infantry, and its attempted defence of the Obenschield Ridge behind the Skyline Drive.  The advance Panzer Grenadier units of Panzer Lehr are attacking along the narrow track road, but this is difficult terrain and few if any vehicles will be available.

To say that this collection was done "on the cheap" is an understatement.  Some judicious eBay purchases of 1/72 plastics and a little conversion work kept the cost to under £10, and that includes the white fleece I`m using for a terrain cloth

Dyle Crossing 15 May 1940, The Bridge Attack

Scenario J: The Attack on the Dyle Bridge

On the 15th May the British had destroyed the bridge over the river Dyle, however enough debris remained for the Germans to effect repairs.  'D' Company 2DLI defended the bridge throughout the day and it was during this action that Lieutenant Richard Annand was awarded the Victoria Cross.  The weight of the German attack eventually convinced the battalion that they would need to fall back to the higher ground behind the bridge.

During the previous games the 31st Division has infiltrated through to the south of the position and captured the Chateau as a staging area for a flank attack.  The moat of the Chateau is shown on the southern edge of the map.

Chain of Command scenario six, 'attack on an objective' will be used for this game.  The British receive two free entrenchments, and have somehow persuaded a troop of Vickers MkVI recce tanks to take part in the defence.
