1. A
Statement of Intent. The Baron
Pumphosen (for it is I) has seen a hill on the map and means to occupy it,
determining the presence of any enemy, and then reacting to that.
I have some concerns about the bottle neck in the town leading
to the bridge, but intend to supervise the crossing ruthlessly. I have vowed to refrain from eating Apricot
Pie until the reds are dealt with.
I have orders to attack, but in true Pumphosen fashion I
suspect that the enemy is interested in the bridges still standing. I will therefore try to locate the enemy
rather than plunging blindly southward.
2. At
0530hrs the Baron (me) will take position on the bridge and supervise the
crossing to expedite it. I will accompany V regiment if the crossing goes
smoothly. If not I will threaten and
cajole people with the Pumpenschtick, my famous walking stick for overweight
Barons, to motivate them, and cross after the Main Body has passed.
3. Piquets
followed by Recce Squadron From Uhlans cross the river 0600 take Neu Sellhiem
Road West. Then turn South West
towards Station Nenweiller. Probe and
locate any enemy forces.
4. Piquets
followed by Recce Squadron From Hussars cross the river 0600 Travel on the
road South West towards Nenweiller.
Probe and locate any enemy forces.
Halt and secure the heights beyond the Goldberger Feld, Support the Advanced Guard.
5. Advanced
Guard Jager to Travel on the road South West towards Nenweiller. Secure the heights beyond the Goldberger
Feld and consolidate in the farm buildings and Goldburger woods on the
heights.
Cavalry to advance to the unwooded summit south of the
Goldburger Feld. Halt and send Piquets
south towards Kippringen and Siebel Hof
6. Main
Body cross the bridge at Neu Goldburg and advance behind the Advanced
Guard. “V” regiment to march via the
road South West towards Nenweiller.
“VI” Regt to march via the direct road south towards
Kippringen and Siebel Hof. They may
anticipate orders to occupy the bald summit south of the Goldberger Feld
7. Rearguard
Artillery, train and then baggage to cross last and move through Alt Goldburg
remaining on the road at present. I
have appointed an English Artillery specialist Captain Hugh Portion as
commander of the rearguard, only to enable me to use puns and sausage jokes.
