Titus and the General Engagement

Scenario Seven: A General Engagement
Tension on the border has reached the point where both sides feel that matters can only be settled with a proper fight rather than just raiding. No objectives are placed for this game, just Deployment Zones and Ambush Points for both forces.
Deployment Zones
Variable. Both side deploy from opposite table edges.
Victory Conditions
The winner will drive the enemy from the table. Let battle commence!

Titus is currently "Punative."  It is Iunius IV.  This game will be the last in the campaign so far.

Same terrain as the last patrol, diced a different approach

Titus was boxed in.  He advances on the far left flank

Capturing an ambush point.

The Roman's tribal javelinmen occupy the woods.

The foot cavalry attack as the Spanish try hit and run.

But the Romans throw Pila and the cavalry have little chance

Titus brings the recruits into line as his supports.  Good position, on a hill out on the flank,

And I do love a hill.

The Spanish main body, advancing at an oblique angle, with flexible drill they open into skirmish order and have a chuck
Titus goes shields up.  Then he lowers and I see that they have come within 6".  Titus gives a Pila volley for good luck.

And its a killer...

Literally since the Spanish leader rolls as a casualty and is knocked down.

leaving a tent party of recruits on the hill Titus goes down at a charge.  Its pretty much all over

The hero shot as Titus wins the game.

Titus now has Heroic status.  The game is won and I can focus on painting Gauls for the Hero's next challenge.

Titus reputation is now "Heroic."  Time to pause and paint some Gauls.  Titus will return to face a new challenge.
